Principal – Frank Learner

Frank learnerFrank Learner is a versatile senior Financial Manager and a full member of the Association of Charity Independent Examiners.

His experience has included significant success in delivering workable solutions for finance, HR and corporate development projects. The common theme to these projects is the application of sound knowledge of business requirements and cost behaviour.

Frank’s role as an agent of change has included the following achievements:

  • Instigated internal audit process at a major Royal Air Force (RAF) maintenance unit - scheme received National Audit Office endorsement.
  • Steered management through a KPMG-conducted strategic scrutiny of an RAF unit (350 staff, budget £24m pa) that secured the unit’s future role and budget.
  • Introduced a motivational scheme with retail gift vouchers for Ministry of Defence civil servants - highlighted in a Cabinet Office report as an innovative approach to Reward and Recognition.

Greengage Associates was established by Frank after he left the RAF.  His last RAF role was Treasurer of the RAF Central Fund (the RAF’s major recreational grant-making charity with annual income of £1.3m).

In keeping with Greengage Associates' values of professionalism and encouraging evolution, Frank is on the South West and Wales Regional Commitee of the Charity Finance Directors' Group (CFDG). CFDG encourages the development and adoption of best practice in charity finance.

Frank is also the Trustee Treasurer of the Community Foundation in Wales and a versatile writer - more details are on the writing page.

Frank is a graduate from the 2007 Cardiff Matrix Common Purpose programme.
